Update Monday 28 April 2014

Finally, The History Chanel at least has it listed at their website!

The preview video is still not posted at YouTube but is at the above link.

Stats indicate unprecedented interest in this upcoming special. It could break cable TV ratings records history – it could get over 20 million viewers. It might get more viewers than The Walking Dead on AMC, which holds the record. I do wish The History Channel had scheduled it for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday . . . instead of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Even better if they had scheduled to show all of it on Memorial Day instead of in three parts over three nights.

Update Friday 18 April 2014

I just found this TV Guide posting, which includes the video that has been the commercial on TV for this mini-series. I’m surprised The History Channel website still does not include the video – does not even mention this upcoming special! Considering the amount of interest the TV commercial has caused, that’s a huge screw-up by whoever manages the website and schedule of shows. Also, the video is not yet posted at YouTube. See it in the following TV Guide article…

Special posting Friday 11 April 2014 at The Lantern Journal by Jim Lantern, Independent voter in Norman Oklahoma USA

I saw a commercial about this while I was watching The Vikings on The History Channel last night. However, I didn’t find any information about it at The History Channel’s website, and no videos anywhere yet of the commercial. I at least found the following information at a few entertainment news websites…

From Press Release ~

New York, NY, March 31, 2014 – HISTORY will premiere the six-hour special event series, THE WORLD WARS, on three consecutive nights beginning Memorial Day, May 26 at 9PM ET/PT, continuing Tuesday, May 27 at 9PM ET/PT and concluding Wednesday, May 28 at 9PM ET/PT. Later this summer, the three-part series will also premiere on H2 and in more than 160 countries across the globe.

THE WORLD WARS tells the story of three devastating decades of war told through the eyes of the powerful men who held the fate of humankind in their hands; men like Roosevelt, Hitler, Patton, Mussolini, Churchill, Tojo, DeGaulle and MacArthur. The series examines the two wars as one contiguous timeline starting in 1914 and concluding in 1945 with these unique individuals coming of age in World War I before ultimately making some of the toughest decisions in the history of mankind in World War II.

The stories will be told through the original style HISTORY and Stephen David Entertainment developed on the Emmy® Award-winning THE MEN WHO BUILT AMERICA using state of the art CGI, dramatic scenes and contributors like Senator John McCain, General Colin Powell, Leon Panetta, Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti, British Prime Minister John Major and more.

THE WORLD WARS was filmed in the US and Europe and will be broadcast on both HISTORY and H2 in the US and internationally throughout the summer in more than 160 countries. It will also premiere on France Televisions and Germany’s N24, and other broadcasters to be named.

In addition to the series, HISTORY and H2 are developing a global educational outreach campaign that will be geared toward high school and college students throughout the world.

THE WORLD WARS is produced by Stephen David Entertainment for HISTORY. Russ McCarroll, Paul Cabana and Elaine Frontain Bryant are Executive Producers for HISTORY. Stephen David serves as Executive Producer for Stephen David Entertainment.
